Christine’s Letter of Recommendation:

To whom it may concern,

It is my pleasure to write this letter in support of Krissy Pizzo’s demonstrated qualifications to become a Public Relations professional.

I first started working with Krissy in September 2022, when she was hired as a Tutor in American Sign Language at the Tutoring and Academic Success Center at State College of Florida (SCF). She came with the impressive recommendation of Professor Michael Tansey, the well-respected Lead American Sign Language Professor at SCF. I immediately recognized Krissy’s exceptional communication skills in her ability to complete the many administrative as well as instructional tasks which are required in her position with enthusiasm and accuracy. She has shown exemplary leadership ability in her front desk duties, and she became well-recognized by her colleagues as someone who could be trusted to complete complex tasks with precision. After working with her on a research paper for an advanced Literature class she was taking, recommended Krissy be trained as a Writing Tutor, a position in which she quickly excelled. She has gained quite a following as a Writing as well as ASL Tutor, known for her patience to help students in any phase of the writing process, from brainstorming to revision as well as proofreading and citations.

In fact, Krissy puts her whole heart into every task she is assigned, in particular the recent creation of Instagram and Facebook content, which to me is top-notch graphic design. Krissy is equally adept at technical as well as interpersonal skills. She is uniquely called to be a bridge between diverse communities, including deaf and hearing communities, learning and instructional communities, as she demonstrated by working on the budget for the Student Activities Board at SCF. I will never forget how Krissy inspired me to take an American Sign Language class after having a negative experience in a class forty years ago; she even asked Professor Tansey to come to the Tutoring Center to encourage me to try his class. Thanks to Krissy, I studied with Professor Tansey and successfully completed American Sign Language 1, participating in deaf events with Krissy throughout the semester.

Because of Krissy’s unique professionalism and dedication to her studies as well as everything with which I have seen her tasked at the Tutoring Center, I decided to recommend her for the Outstanding Graduate Award for her graduating class of December 2023. This award is only given to one student across SCF’s three campuses. Krissy received honorable mention by the president of SCF at graduation for reaching as far as runner-up, and she was given the honor of introducing SCF’s president a graduation, which I was proud to attend to support Krissy in her success.

Krissy has a broad range of competencies and a uniquely positive attitude, which I believe would make her an asset in any Public Relations position for which she aspires. She is a true professional with exceptional interpersonal communication skills and a proven track record as a liaison, building bridges across diverse communities.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

Sincerely,

Christine Lambert, M.A.
